P. Carey Reid was born October of 1947 at the age of zero. Now, seventy-two years later, he would like to share his work so that it does not simply sit in boxes or drawers around the house. He started in St. Louis, Missouri, then went to college in San Diego, graduate school in Providence, Rhode Island, and on to a long career as a sometime novelist, poet, and photographer, but always a teacher--of high school and college students, immigrants needing English skills, and folks chasing a high school credential.
Carey is husband to the wonderful poet and novelist, Diane Wald, and together with their three cats (Earl Grey, Hedwig, and O'Toole) they live just outside of Boston. His equally wonderful daughter, Lauren Rauh, is pursuing a public health degree in Brooklyn with her brand new husband, RJ, and their elderly dog, Sammy.
